Ingredients

  • 14 oz (400g) large prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp sriracha or chilli flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Steamed rice and broccoli, for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat prawns dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a large pan over high heat. Add prawns in a single layer. Cook 1-2 minutes per side until pink and curled. Remove and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and garlic to the same pan. Stir for 30 seconds.
  4. Add honey, soy sauce, and sriracha. Stir until it bubbles and starts to thicken, about 1 minute.
  5. Return prawns to the pan. Toss in the sauce until evenly coated and glossy.
  6. Serve immediately over rice with steamed broccoli.

Notes

Don't crowd the pan. Cook prawns in a single layer or they'll steam instead of sear. If your sauce gets too thick, add a splash of water to loosen it. Substitute chicken breast or tofu if you don't eat seafood. Cut into bite-sized pieces and adjust cook time to 3-4 minutes per side.
